Rendering a tie-down-aerial
Application of a tie-down-rigging.
1.) Fix the thread to the model on one end using CA
2.) Put tension on it and fix it straight on the second end, again using CA.
3.) Drill a tiny hole into the fuselage and test if the thread slides in.
4.) Apply a tiny drop of CA on the horizontal aerial.
5.) Fix the vertical thread on the tiny drop CA on the horizontal aerial.
6.) Slide the thread into the tiny hole and hold it with the appropirate tension
7.) Use a small amount of CA and apply it on the hole with the thread inside.
The capillary action will suck the CA inside, causing a clean joint and a stabile connection.

Sweet lil combo, including a sweet lil kit and sweet lil Uschi swag. The kit contains 2 gliders! This is an excellent test-bed for translucency effects an a cool lil woodgrain and rigging boot camp. This content of this kit actually the one of a full grown "Profipack", despite the fact the boxart doesn´t indicate that. It has masks and photoetch included. A real gem in the form of Eduard´s "Profipack". Some say the rib tape structure is overdone, I dont care too much. One can easily sand them down a lil bit, if desired. I have seen one on the Euro Model Expo that has won a "Goldie" in its class. Blaming the kit is something for scared people. The "Pros" on that kit are the prominent factors. One of these factors are the separated controls, for example. That is something that really makes sense. We got cool color printed photoetch inside, we got paint masks for the wheels and we have great decals which provide two bare wood options. The one with the red arrow is my favoured. Perfect playground for Uschi´s "Fine Rigging" and "Fine Veneer Plywood" which is the icing on the cake. Thats all we need for a cool ride on a wooden biplane. Hop in! :-)

Why I included this one in a bundle? That´s easy: Because there is a phantastic replica in the Munich Oberschleissheim Aviation Museum, sporting the markings of 253.24. Exactly this paint scheme is included in the kit. We have one of Eduard´s brilliant "Profipack" editions, which means we are almost good to go. Why almost? I have a special connection to this kit. I always used it as a test piece for designing new decals. Also the designs for the WWI masking set WW1-1 , executed by my friend Mal Mayfield and released as an Uschi product were based in this kit set. This masking set can be used by both, the advanced and the experienced modeler, because the really tricky part, the Bavarian Diamonds, can be replaced by he kit decals if you messed up both masks. This gorgeousness comes from Mother Russia, namely the City of Moscow and has been built by the extraordinary talented Mr. Serge Stolayrov. Note the planking cut on the upper side of the rear fuselage. Serge used Uschi´s "Ronny Bar" edition for the job. (New Item code 1003, former WGSF-48A). Nice aint it? I luv it! Heinkel He-162 A2 1/48th
One really sexy lil kit. I had the pleasure to build this fine little "shake and bake" a while ago. I actually was looking for a "test canvas" to check some techniques I´ve heard of. At the time I started, I was massively impressed by the perfect fit. I was like "Dude, you need to build that thing. Its dope." and I ordered the Eduard PE to pimp this ride. Not exactly smart to order a PE when you´re on 30% of your way already but it came just in time for the engine. Check out "My own stuff" if you´d like to have a look at it.
I also recommend to check out the reference section for this aircraft.
In late 2013 I had the pleasure to supply Harris Ali´s build of the kit. This project appeared in ADH Publishing´s "How to build....Tamiya´s Aircraft", written by Spencer Pollard. I strongly recommend this read. Its shows the application of NMF finishes and Uschi´s decals in perfection.
